We are happy you discovered The Love Club. Please see an overview of our history below.
the beginning...
The Love Club (TLC) Its A Beautiful Thing, Inc.501C3 was founded in 1997 and registered with the IRS in 2001. TLC was inspired as students requested Carlos Merriweather's help getting their music to the public. The students had learned of Carlos's number one regional radio song. Carlos realized the music the students had become accustomed to were actually instructions to self destruct. To counteract the self destruction repetition, Carlos developed the idea to open the 'Life Mysteries Awards.' Enlisting positive adult judges he started the process of awarding $100 to the strongest solution based performance monthly. Carlos understood artists impact audience to internalize messages. Carlos also knew, as Barry Gordy knew, the public does not always like the sound of music artists like. The solution implied that a small portion of the public be allowed to hear and approve a song before releasing it to the public at large. Although the process was not always acceptable to the youth, but only the best, most approved product and presentations were allowed to be pressed on to CDs and offered to the public.
Hip-Hop was a constant participant. The groups and individuals studied and performed as friends. One song told of two friends, one carried a gun and committed robbery, the other enthusiastically attended school. The story demonstrated their progressive paths. The songs end told of theĆ educated friend visiting the gun carrying friends grave site.
In 2004 TLC became homeless and grantless. Carlos had reached in communities touching the tough guys, those who would be gang members. Carlos witnessed those lives change forever. He had spent his earnings to build the organization, but was out of money to keep it going on his own. Carlos then scheduled the young people to meet in his home. As the youth looked at Carlos with tears in their eyes they asked him to, Find a way to keep it alive. He promised it would return after the doors closed. He explained he would go back to school to learn how best to approach rebuilding the organization. He then started writing a fantasy book about a fiction characters experience encouraging positive music.
The book is Consumine Desire, the character is Tony Dollars. We now seek board members to help direct www.recordsongs.us and The Love Club.
Tony Dollars, host the International Satellite Radio Broadcast, is published in literary work, and seeks to promote talent through this web site. Tonys first record released battled its way to the top of regional charts, earning him the respect and friendship of Motown/Buddha Records recording artist James Baker of The New Birth. James most recognizable song is Wild Flower. Tony went to work writing another regional hit titled, Just Because of You. He prepared for his musical endeavors while living in Boston on the campus of Berklee College of Music studying arranging, song writing and composition. He earned sound engineering and marketing certificates from Berklee College of Music. Tony holds a literature diploma from the Childrens Literature Institute, and a business administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Tony wrote, produced and recorded music and lyrics for the State Arts Council, the Public School System, the Peace Education theme song, Stop the Violence and community love song, This is The Way We Grow, with Shay Porter.
